An area famous for the snow path called ”Yuki no Kairo” (the snow corridor) which is surrounded by nine-meter-high snow on both sides, and Mikaeritoge Peak where you can view Mount Iwate against the vast open landscape. The abundance of greenery covered with snow in winter adds to its beauty.
The snow corridor that is surrounded by high walls of snow yet allowing a passage through the silver world is a must-see. As it is closed in winter for safety reasons, you should check its closing period.
Skiing ground available with about 25 minutes taxi ride after getting off at the JR Hanawa line "Obuke Station".
