This castle, reaching 44.4 meters above sea level, is built on Otakasa Hill, which is located close to the center of the Kochi plains. It was establised approximately 400 years ago, and is full of historical significance. Each of the rivers that flow around the south side and the north side of the hill are used as the outer moat. This esteemed castle it is counted as one of Japan's Top 100 Castles.

    "Sunday Market" is held on Sundays in Otesuji, Kochi on the way from JR "Kochi Station" to Kochi Castle; you can go for a peaceful walk. (a 25-minute walk)Leaflets available in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean.

  • Nearest Station/IC Access

    From JR Shikoku Dosan line's "Kochi Station", get on Tosaden Kotsu Ino line and get off at "Kochijo-mae Stop" (10 minutes). Then walk for five minutes.

    Take a bus bound for the city from JR "Kochi Station", get off at "Koen-dori" or "Kencho-mae" (10 minutes), and walk for 10 minutes.
