This place is called Kazue town because it was the residence of the Toda Kazueshige family in feudal times. There are two major chaya (tea shops) districts, Higashi Chaya District and Nishi Chaya District, with tea shops and Japanese restaurants lining the streets. The townscape features narrow alleyways and senbongoshi (a facade with detailed lattice work in Japanese architecture). The city overflows with Kanazawa atmosphere.
