A crater lake formed within Mt. Osore's caldera. It's said to be extremely acidic and unable to support life in its turquoise waters yet, somehow, Japanese dace fish live here. The shore is covered in white sand, giving it the name Gokuraku-hama (Paradise Beach).
In the northeast there is also the Sanzu River (the Buddhist equivalent to the River Styx).
Take the Osoreyama Line from JR Shimokita Station for about 40 minutes
