A volcanic peak 580 meters above sea level, it is shaped like a bowl placed upside down. It is accessible by lift, and as you arrive at the top of the mountain you can see the superb 360-degree panoramic view of Mt. Fuji and isands dotting the ocean.
Futo, Ito, Shizuoka
Mountain Burning is held once a year in February to set the entire mountain on fire. Tourists are also eligible to participate by holding a torch.
Take a bus from JR "Ito Station" bound for Shaboten Park. Get off at "Shaboten Park", and then take the ropeway for 5 minutes to reach the summit.
