One of the three biggest cherry trees in Japan, this giant benishidare zakura (a type of weeping cherry tree) is said to be about 1,000 years old. From the middle to end of April, the tree blooms in light pink blossoms that cascade in all directions like a waterfall of flowers. The area is also blessed with various flowers, including cherry and rapeseed blossoms. It is illuminated during the evening between 18:00 to 21:00.
Sakurakubo, Taki, Miharumachi, Tamura, Fukukshima
The entire area of Miharumachi is a popular cherry blossom viewing spot as there are over 10,000 cherry trees there, and approx. 2,000 of them are weeping cherry trees.
