A notable theater came to Dotonbori town in 1626 and brought with it prosperity. Originally a canal, tea houses lined up at the entrance to the theater and turned it into a town of restaurants. In addition, there are still many theaters, making it an important place for drama and entertainment.

The kuidaore doll (meaning "to eat yourself bankrupt") and the recently renewed Dotonbori Glico sign are well-known.
Dotonbori is immediate from the subway Midosuji Line, Yotsubashi Line, Sennichimae Line "Namba" station, the Hanshin train, Kintetsu "Osaka-Namba Station" Exit 14.
