Masayuki Sanada constructed the Ueda castle in 1583.The famous warrior castle blocked the large army of Tokugawa who ruled the country afterwards twice, and today it is a popular place to visit once in a life time. In November, the Ueda Castle Row of Keyaki Trees and Autumn Leaves Festival is held. You can enjoy the colorful remains of Ueda Castle with the deep red maple leaves and yellow ginkgo leaves.

    Events are held during the cherry blossom and autumn leave seasons. Illuminations are available during the blooming period of cherry blossoms where there's fantastic scenery.

    Exit JR "Ueda Station", Ueda Station on the Shinano Railway, or "Ueno Station" on the Ueda Dentetsu Bessho Line, and take a 10-minute walk.
