The shrine was established in Yuigahama in 1063 as a branch of Kyoto's Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine, after Minamoto no Yoriyoshi suppressed the Oshu province (in modern day Iwate Prefecture). Experience the natural beauty of the ancient capital of Kamakura, with cherry blossoms in the spring, lotus in summer, and maple leaves in autumn.
