A virgin beech forest over 300 years old, referred to as the “most beautiful forest in Japan”. The two wetland areas, Kitadobu and Minamidobu, are home to precious florae. The nikkokisuge (day lilies) that bloom in Kitadobu Wetlands from mid to late July are particularly famous.

There are facilities, including a lodge and a camping ground in the area. There are several trekking routes from the General Information Center to virgin beech forests, wetlands, and Mt. Kohyozan (1,747.3m).
