Obuse town offers a wide variety of attractions including the cherry blossoms and rapeseed flowers that bloom in beginning of the spring season. “Sakurazutsumi (the cherry blossom dike)”, the 4km dike stretching along the Chikuma River near Obuse Bridge, is a particularly famous cherry blossom viewing spot of historical and cultural significance. it boasts approximately 600 double cherry trees, called “Ichiyo”.

The blooming season of the cherry trees on Sakurazutsumi is later than other cherry trees, and the peak here is around the Golden Week (late April to early May).
