A narrow protrusion of over 2 km into the deep-blue ocean is located at the easternmost end of Miyakojima Island (Okinawa Prefecture), which is surrounded by coral reefs and cliffs of Ryukyu limestone. This is a beautiful cape that has been designated as one of the 100 best city parks of Japan, and as one of the country's Natural Monuments of Special Historic Sites and Special Places of Scenic Beauty. There is a promenade extended from the parking lot to the lighthouse area, where visitors can enjoy the magnificent view while they stroll about, making this one of Miyakojima's most popular sightseeing spots.
Hen, Gusukube Bora, Miyakojima, Okinawa
Visitors can enjoy the view from the Higashi Hennazaki lighthouse, which stands at the tip of the cape, too. (150 JPY)
