Large marshland area about 1,300 meters above sea level that spreads over the western foot of Mt. Daisetsu. It is dotted with several ponds and swamps such as Sanno-numa and Hangetsu-numa. Its great view brings many tourists. It is especially popular during the autumn leaf season in the fall.

    It takes about 1 hour and a half to arrive after entering through Azankei Onsen. Big and small swamps are scattered here and there surrounded by clusters of alpine plants. Visitors need to be careful about their clothing choices, as this is a very muddy place.

    110 min. by bus from "Asahikawa Station," followed by 12 min. on the ropeway, and a 210-min. walk afterwards
