Biwako Fireworks Festival

This fireworks festival is held at the lakeshore of Lake Biwa, and receives about 310,000 visitors. Very famous both within and outside of the prefecture, it is a notable event of Lake Biwa's summer season. Different types of starmine fireworks bloom beautifully in the rich nature.
Hamaotsu, Otsu, Shiga
August 8th (If the 8th falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it will be held the previous Friday)
The fireworks are designed after a different theme every year.
