A broad limestone plateau stretching over a total area of 54 square kilometers, this is the largest karst plateau in Japan. An example of nature’s own art created long before humanity’s history began, the eastern portion of the plateau is designated as both a Special Natural Monument and a Quasi-National Park. The area here has a gorgeous art-like landscape formed by countless limestone pillars which let you savor scenery that doesn’t seem to be of Japan, or the world.
