Akita Nairiku Jukan (“across the inland”) Railway
©AFLO, Iwao Kataoka
This local railway joins Takanosu Station in Kitaakita City and Kakunodate Station in Senboku City. The beautiful rural and valley landscapes along its tracks have changing seasonal characters that bring joy to the passengers aboard. Ride during the autumn, and from the carriage you’ll see golden stalks of rice and mountains colored in vivid fall shades, an exceptionally popular view.
*Kakunodate Station:Nakasugazawa, Kakunodate-machi, Senboku, Akita
5:30 to around 21:00 (see timetable)
We recommend October if you want to enjoy the changing colors of fall from the train.
About 44 minutes from Morioka Station (a Akita Shinkansen station) to Kakunodate Station.
