The lavender flowers of NakaFurano are quite famous, so be sure to visit the city’s Farm Tomita, which boasts massive lavender fields. Biei, where you’ll find the beautiful hilly landscapes and fields of flowers that secure its membership in the “Most Beautiful Villages in Japan Association." Another must-see is autumn in Sounkyo Gorge, and in fact the Daisetsuzan area where Sounkyo is located is the very first part of Japan to see the reds and yellows of fall leaves, giving you a chance to enjoy gorgeous autumn foliage.
