Tottori City is an area famous for the Tottori Sand Dunes, a tourist attraction that stretches 2.4 km from north to south and 16 km from east to west. It is one of the largest sand dunes in Japan popular among tourists and has many unique landforms and sights, different depending on the season and time of day. The Iwami area boasts Uradome Beach, which is as clear as the waters of Okinawa, and an abundance of seafood, with the largest catch of Matsuba crabs in Japan. The area offers a wide variety of places to enjoy, from spots along the coast to the oldest hot springs in the San'in area, and pilgrimages to sacred anime sites.
