The Toyo region is one of the three divisions of Ehime Prefecture, consisting of Shikokuchuo, Niihama, Saijo, Imabari, and Ochi-gun (Kamijima-cho), and is filled with towns from ancient to modern history.
The Besshi Copper Mine is one of the most famous copper mines in the world. It is a theme park that utilizes the former facilities of the Besshi Copper Mine, which became the foundation of industry in Ehime Prefecture after the Meiji era.
Besides, there are many temples where pilgrims can visit Shikoku sacred sites, such as Sankakuji Temple, the 65th temple of the 88th sacred site in Shikoku, and Kisshoji Temple, the 63rd temple of the 88th sacred site in Shikoku.
