Aki & Muroto

Cape Muroto is one of the most scenic spots in the Aki and Muroto area. Cape Muroto was once known as a difficult place on the sea, and the coastline is covered with strange rocks, lush tropical rain forests, and coastal plants. The view of the vast Pacific Ocean is also a great attraction. In September 2011, it was recognized as a Global Geopark.
In addition, the birthplace of Yataro Iwasaki (1835-1885), who built the Mitsubishi conglomerate in a single generation, and many facilities display materials related to Shintaro Nakaoka (1838-1867), who worked hard to conclude the Satcho alliance, which contributed to changing Japan's politics in 1868.
