The Minamitoba area is famous for Shirahama Beach and Chidorigahama Beach, and Chidorigahama Beach boasts one of the ten most beautiful beaches in Toba. There are also many spots where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the vast ocean, such as the “Toba Observatory,” where you can see the rias coastline and the horizon, “Pearl Road,” a 23-km-long driveway connecting Toba and Shima, and “Sugasaki Park,” where you can enjoy the breathtaking view of Cape Anorisaki.
The town is also known as divers and fishermen because of its abundance of seafood such as sea bream, lobsters, abalone, and Japanese tiger prawns.
