Uehonmachi, Tennoji, & Southern part of the city
In the Uehonmachi, Tennoji, and the southern part of the city area, there is the "Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine," nicknamed "Sumiyoshisan" (Mr./Ms. Sumiyoshi), which is one of the most popular spots in Osaka, with more than 2 million people visiting the shrine on the first three days of the year. The "Tennoji Zoo," which opened in 1915, is also a significant tourist attraction in the area. It attracts many people, especially couples and families, on holidays.
