Asuka, Kashihara, & Miwa

Asuka, Kashihara, & Miwa

Mt. Miwa, located in Sakurai City, has been worshipped since ancient times as a divine mountain, and it was once a sacred place where access was strictly limited. Pottery and jade beads have been excavated from the mountain. It is a valuable ancient site that shows the actual situation of ancient rituals at the foot of Mt. Miwa.
The “Kashihara Jingu Shrine,” which enshrines Emperor Jinmu and Queen Himetaraizu, is also a significant tourist attraction and a must-visit spot.
Asuka Village, with its rich natural environment, is a valuable place where you can experience the history and culture of the Asuka period (592-710) and learn about the conditions of that time.
