“Himeji Castle,” called Shirasagijo because of its white plastered walls and graceful appearance, “Shoshazan Engyoji Temple,” where you can see the Seto Inland Sea amidst old trees, the ruins of “Ako Castle,” known for the Chushingura, and “Sumiyoshi Shrine,” where a festival is held during the cherry blossom season. Its many attractions characterize the area.
The area is also home to Himeji Central Park. You can go ice skating in the winter and swimming pools in the summer, making it an excellent place for families to enjoy.
