Presenting an untouched landscape as it flows sedately though Shimanto City, the Shimanto River is hailed as the last truly clear river of Japan. For more gorgeous scenery, head out to Cape Muroto, Cape Ashizuri, and Katsura Beach. The beach features a statue of Ryoma Sakamoto, a great man and patriot from the last days of the Tokugawa shogunate. Setting out by boat from Tosa Bay for whale- or dolphin-watching, you’ll come to appreciate an experience that only the fullness of nature can offer.
