Wakkanai & Rumoi

Located at the northernmost par of Japan, the area is blessed with magnificent nature, such as the Sarobetsu Plain and many other wild flower gardens, and the Soya Hills, which are said to have been formed during the ice age.
The Ogonzaki Seaside Park, with its beautiful sunset over the Sea of Japan, and Shiomi Ryokuchi, with its mystical greenery and clean air, are among the area's most popular tourist attractions. The area is also home to Wakkanai's local cuisine, such as “Tako-Shabu (octopus hot pots)“ and Mashike's specialty sweet shrimp.
