Mt. Fuji extends over the prefectures of Yamanashi and Shizuoka. It is the highest mountain in Japan, and it was registered as World Heritage site in 2013.During the summer, the best season for hiking the mountain, it bustles with visitors. There are many entertainment spots in the surroundings such as the five lakes of Mt. Fuji, Oshino Hakkai, Fujikyu Highland (Yamanashi prefecture,) the Shiraito Falls, Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha, and Fuji Safari Park (Shizuoka prefecture.) Visitors can enjoy sightseeing with a view of Mt. Fuji in the background.
