Hokkaido’s Marvellous One-Month-Only Church

Hokkaido’s Marvellous One-Month-Only Church

Made entirely from snow and ice, the Ice Chapel makes its appearance for one brief month during the white and snowy wonderland of Hokkaido’s winter. Created from the raw materials of nature, this fantastical church isn’t something you can find just anywhere.

From the exterior dome to the altar, the cross, and the wedding aisle, everything here in this breathtakingly beautiful holy space is formed from ice and snow.

With shades of frosted blue that are sure to add to an atmosphere of romance, the Ice Chapel can of course be used for wedding ceremonies.

As a one-in-a-lifetime event, how wonderful it would be for a bride and groom to pledge their love in such an incredible space.

Additionally, during the 2016 event period running from January 8 (Fri.) to February 14 (Sun.), visitors can tour the church after the weddings have been held. Be sure to drop by during your winter travels to make a truly unique memory.
