01.The "Akan-Mashu National Park" where you must see the beautiful blue water of "Lake Mashu" (Hokkaido)
This is the most historic national park in Hokkaido. The highlights of this park are the forest that is fascinating all year round, one of the most clearest waters in the world found in Lake Mashu, and the beautiful scenery of this forest and the lake put together.There are also many onsens in the area including the Lake Akan Onsen and the Kawayu Onsen, so you can go on an onsen tour.
02.The scenic "Towada Hachimantai National Park" where you can enjoy wonderful but little known hidden onsens. (Aomori/Iwate/Akita)
This national park extends over the three prefectures of Aomori, Iwate, and Akita, and you can get a fantastic view of mountains, vallies, lakes and marshes. Lake Towada and Oirase Gorge are especially beautiful spots that were designated as national monuments. You can also enjoy old-fashioned onsens at the Tamagawa, Matsukawa, and Nyuto Onsen areas.
03.The "Nikko National Park" where you can see both World Heritage Sites and beautiful natural landscapes. (Tochigi, Gunma, Fukushima)
The Nikko National Park was established in 1934 and it became one of Japan's first national parks. As it is one of Japan's most famous mountain parks, there are many beautiful natural landscapes including the Kegon Falls, and many historic buildings including shrines and temples that were designated as World Heritage Sites.
04.The "Ise-Shima National Park" made of captivating and beautiful ria coasts. (Mie)
The Ise-Shima National Park was the first to be designated as a national park post-war in 1946.At this park you can enjoy one of Japan's best spiritual spots, the historic Ise Jingu Shrine, and the beautiful scenery of the Ria Coast.
05.The "Daisen-Oki National Park" wher eyou can view varied scenery of Mountains filled with greenery. (Tottori, Shimane, Okayama)
In 1922, Oyama became third to be designated as one of Japan's national parks. Since then, Oki Island, the Hiruzen region, the Shimane peninsula, and the Mt. Sanbe region were added, and it became the current "Daisen-Oki National Park". The park extends over the three prefectures of Shimane, Okayama, and Tottori. At the park you can enjoy changes in scenery of its nearby volcanic landform, rich forests, and plains throughout the different seasons of the year.
06. The "Aso Kuju National Park" where you can fully enjoy a high quality onsen and a magnificent scenery created by a volcano. (Kumamoto, Oita)
The Aso Kuju National Park is located on the Kumamoto-Oita prefectural border. In this vast park there is Mt. Aso, a volcano with the world's largeset caldera, and the Kuju Mountains.There are many onsens located nearby Mt. Aso, including Kurokawa, Beppu, and Yufuin. Many tourists visit these onsens all year round.
07.The "Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park" where you can enjoy a vast view of volcanic mountain ranges, and one of the best onsens in Japan. (Miyazaki, Kagoshima)
The Kirishima-Kinkowan National Park extends over Miyazaki and Kagoshima prefectures. It is divided into two regions called the "Kirishima region", with more than 20 volcanoes lined up, and the "Kinkowan region", consisting of Ibusuki and the Sata cape.There are many hot spring sources, and the many onsens including the Kirishima Onsen, the Kirishima Jingu Onsen, the Myoken Anraku Onsen, and the Hinatayama bustle with many tourists.
08.The "Kerama Shoto National Park" with beautiful blue water called the "Kerama Blue" that captivates divers from all over the world. (Okinawa)
In 2014, this park became 31st to be designated as a national park. It is located where there is a group of about 30 islands and reefs, about 40km west from Naha, Okinawa.This park is known as the holy land for divers all around the world, because the sea called the "Kerama Blue" has a high degree of transparency, and there are beautiful coral reefs.
