1. You can calculate the timing of blooming

Although rough timings for blooming are often announced by region over TV or Internet, because the timings of blooming change, earlier or later, due to weather conditions, the timing of blooming is not always matching to that of announced. Though having said that, you still like to see the flowers on the timing of blooming. For that reason, I would like to recommend the calculation method of "a cherry blossom blooms on the day that excesses over 600 degrees Celsius of accumulated numbers of the highest temperature after February". It is said that the day that excesses 600 degrees Celsius by adding (the highest temperature of Feb/1) + (the highest temperature of Feb/2) + (the highest temperature of Feb/3) +... is about the timing of blooming. It takes about one week from blooming till in full bloom. Knowing this calculation method, you can calculate the status of cherry blossoms of each region by yourself.

2. Cherry blossoms are of two kinds

As there are natural fish and farmed fish, there also are cherry blossoms of native species that self-grows in nature and of cultivated species that created by improvement. The most seen in Japan is the cultivated species, called as Somei Yoshino Cherry (Somei Yoshino). But, when you go to old-standing parks, the ruins of castles, and areas of mountains, you can find various kinds of native cherry blossoms. Cherry blossoms of native species have a long history, and it is said that the oldest cherry blossom tree in Japan exceeds 2000 year-old. And, the three cherry blossom trees that are took up from especially the oldest tree in age are called as "three major cherry blossom trees".
