Okinoerabu Island is an island blessed with a mild climate - the annual average temperature is a comfortable 22-degrees. Both tropical and subtropical flowers are grown and cultivated here throughout the year, such as lilies, and spray chrysanthemums. 200-300 limestone caves are also situated on the island, such as the infamous "Shoryudo Cave". Due to this, Okinoerabu Island is often referred to as "The Island of Flowers and Limestone Caves".
