Obasute Rice Terraces
Obasute Rice Terraces has been voted as one of the “Top 100 Terraced Paddy Fields of Japan”. Visitors can see the night view of Zenkojidaira, extending from Chikuma City to Nagano City. It long been widely known as the place to “Tagoto no Tsuki” (the moon reflected on terraced rice paddies), hence the name, derived from the Japanese legend of Obasute, a walking course between the rice paddies is available for all to enjoy, with Chorakuji Temple and “48 Hirata” (a type of rice terrace) along the way.
