This is the only stonework multiple-arched dam in the whole of Japan. Visitors can see a fantastic mountainous scenery from here regardless of the time of year. The landscape is particularly beautiful when the dam is brimming with water. While there are an abundance of visitors to Honen-ike Dam throughout the year, the traditional “Yurunuki” (water release) event in summer is particularly famous.
