Nakijin Castle, a rival for Shuri Castle, spans an area of 4 hectares and has been selected as one of Japan’s “Top 100 Castles”. The robust castle wall is a total of 1.5 km long. Lots of Taiwan cherry trees are planted here, with visitors flocking to the area in early spring due to it being the earliest cherry tree to bloom in japan.
