Apr. Morning

This weeping cherry tree is said to be 300-years old. Gotou Matabee, a samurai during the summer campaign for the siege of Osaka in 1615, is believed to have died here, hence it being fondly called “Matabee Cherry Tree” by the locals. The contrast in colors between the cherry blossoms and the peach blossoms behind is so beautiful that lots of visitors come every year during peak blooming season to enjoy the scene.
