Namba Yasaka Shrine

This shrine is famous for its "Religious Tug of War" event, a important intangible folk culture asset which takes place on the third Sunday of January every year. Worshippers from across the country also visit this shrine, commonly referred to as the "Lion Shrine" as the gigantic lion head design is believed to encourage victory and success in business and destroy evil.
