Dec. Dusk

The smallest of the Five Lakes of Mt. Fuji, this lake was named as such due to the fact that the first monk to climb Mt. Fuji was said to have cleansed himself in this lake before the climb. It is a popular place to visit during the hot Japanese summer as temperatures rarely exceed 25-degrees Celsius. Lots of photographers are attracted here throughout the year – from the beautiful cherry blossoms of spring, to the autumnal colors in fall and the frost in winter.
