Chihaya Akasaka Village
This sole village in Osaka Prefecture is often lovingly referred to as a “village which resembles those depicted in picture books”. In 1999 the terraced rice paddy fields of Shimo-Akasaka were elected as one of the “Top 100 Rice Terraces of Japan”, and in 2006 Chihaya Castle was also elected as one of the “Top 100 Castle of Japan”.
