This park, which hosts the ruins of Kofu Castle, has been listed as one of the “Top 100 Castles of Japan”. It is also commonly referred to as “Maizuru Castle” (literally: dancing cranes) as from above it looks like a crane spreading its wings. 160 cherry blossom trees bloom profusely around the stone castle walls in spring, which looks amazing against the backdrop of Mt. Fuji.
