Lake Motosuko

One of the Five Lakes of Mt. Fuji located within the special district of the ”Fuji Hakone Izu National Park” in Yamanashi Prefecture. Westernmost of the five lakes, it has a maximum depth of 121.6 m. This view of Fuji can be found at the back of the one thousand yen bill that has been in circulation since 2004.

A rich number of leisure activities such as Bass fishing, boat riding, horseback riding, camping, etc. are available in the area. It is an extremely ideal place as a cool summer resort. Over 30 cm of snow lying during winter each year and visitors can enjoy skating in the frozen lake.

- Take the Fujikyuko Line from the JR "Otsuki Station" (60 minutes), alight and transfer to the local bus at "Kawaguchiko Station", and alight at "Motosu" (60 minutes).
