Miyadake Shrine became known nationwide as it was used as the location for a Japan Airlines commercial featuring idol group Arashi. A spectacular scenery, nicknamed the "path of light," features the light of the setting sun as it shines down the approach from the shrine itself towards the coast. Several historically valuable golden items in the shrine have been certified as national treasures.
