This park was built to convey the Meiji Emperor and Empress' achievements to future generations. There are sports facilities such as a baseball stadium (Jingu Stadium), a golf range, and an ice skating rink, but a major highlight is the row of Ginkgo biloba trees that spans around 300 meters. These trees, numbering to about 146 and standing at 9-meter intervals, spread from Aoyama-dori entrance to Gaien Central Square. They have also been around for more than 100 years. Different sceneries can be enjoyed in every season: yellow leaves in autumn, budding flowers in spring, green leaves in summer, and bare trees in winter.
