Apr. Morning

Also known as “Bungo Fuji”, Mount Yufu has been worshipped by the locals since ancient times. This is a very famous and beloved mountain. Hikers used to frequently visit the mountain throughout the year to witness its spectacular autumn leaves and winter frost, and its summit offers excellent views of Beppu Bay, the Kuji mountains, and the town of Yufuin onsen district.

* Due to the earthquake (Aug 6, 2016) climbing routes at Yufu (Yufudake) and Tsurumi (Tsurumidake) mountains are restricted. Rockfall is likely to occur even on routes that are passable. Watch for falling rocks.
