Lake Shirakaba at the foot of Mt. Tateshina, which is located at the northernmost tip of the Yatsugatake mountain range, is a lake with an altitude of about 1,400 m and a circumference of about 4 km.
It is also known as one of the best highland resorts and tourist destinations in Nagano prefecture, with plenty of activities such as skiing, canoeing, boating, golf, and great amusement parks, hotels, museums, hot springs, and other tourist facilities.
Also, since it is easily accessible by car from the metropolitan area (just in 2 hours), this place is a great deal if you want to enjoy nature on a weekend.
