Otaru Canal
- 小樽運河
- Sapporo & Otaru
A 1,140-meter-long canal built in 1923 using land reclaimed from the sea. One of the canal's special features is its curves. There are 63 gas lamps lining the strolling path. When they are lit in the evening, they provide a romantic lighting, making this a popular date spot. You can also take a tour along the canal in a cruise ship and enjoy the stone-built warehouse district.

Point
The day's landscape is beautiful, but the group of illuminated warehouses, the lighting of gas lamps, etc. that are available from the evening on are special sights to see. There are also retro-style restaurants lining up all over the place.
