Fujimidai Highland, 1,739 meters above sea level, straddles Nakatsugawa City in Gifu Prefecture and Achi Village in Shimoina District, Nagano Prefecture.
In the beginning, it was called "Yamabushidai," but since the Meiji era (1868-1912), followers of the Fuji sect established a place of worship here, and it came to be called "Fujimidai".
During the autumn foliage season, the colors deepen in stages from the foot of the mountain to the hillside and the top of the mountain, attracting many visitors from mid-October to mid-November. In addition to the 360-degree view from the ropeway, you can also enjoy nature up close by strolling along the promenade leading from the summit station.
The star-filled sky at night and the sea of clouds in the early morning are magical attracting visitors to join the various events that are held here by the guides.
