Lake Akaya Lake Akaya

The Aimata Dam was constructed for the purpose of flood control, securing flow, and power generation. The artificial lake created by the dam construction is called Lake Akaya.
The area around the lake is surrounded by rich nature and offers beautiful views of cherry blossoms in spring, greenery in summer, and autumn leaves in fall. There is a nature trail along the lake, and many people enjoy walking or running marathons around while admiring the scenery.
Every year around the end of July, events such as the Kappa Jizou memorial service (to pray for safety), watermelon splitting, and fish catching are held at the Kappa Square by Lake Akaya.
