Japanese style garden found within Himeji Park, located near Himeji Castle. With a total area of 3.5 hectares, this Japanese style garden spreads throughout the park for visitors to appreciate the park in its entirety. Divided into nine distint sections, the park is famous as a set for filming historical movies and TV series.

    About 160 trees that include Japanese maples, mountain maples, and cherry trees, among others, change the color of their leaves between mid-November and the end of the same month. They are lit up by night.

    Get on the Himeji bus at Himeji station, and get off the bus at "Himejijo / Otemon-mae" (5 minute ride.) You will immediately find the Koko-en Garden.
