In a lush corner of Matsunoyama lies a 90-year-old beech forest. Due to the beautiful, slender shape of the trees, the forest was called ”Bijin Bayashi” (Forest of Beauties). This place is a popular spot for fans of photography.
Matsuguchi, Matsunoyama, Tokamachi, Niigata
The forest is incredibly green in summer and red in autumn, and snow that piles out on the branches shines under the sunlight during winter.
From the Hokuetsu Express Hokuhoku Line's "Matsudai station", take a ride heading to Matsunoyama hot springs, alight in front of the "Matsunoyama high school" (20 minutes) and walk for 15 minutes.
