Ice floe in Abashiri City
Abashri is located in 44 degrees north latitude. From late January, visitors can see ice floes (floating sheets of ice) in the Sea of Okhotsk. You can try the drift ice sightseeing boat ”Aurora”. If you are lucky, you might see clione (known as the naked sea butterfly), seals, steller's sea eagles, foxes, or ezojika deer.
